Overview

HaramBlur is a tool built around the Islamic principle of lowering the gaze. It started as an open-source browser extension under AGPL-3.0, maintained by Mohamed Alganzory and community contributors, and has since expanded to an Android app (powered by the Accessibility Service) and an iOS app, blurring images and videos it classifies as NSFW the moment they render on screen.

Settings expose blur strength, strictness, gender-based filtering, and a quick on/off toggle. All detection runs locally on the user's device — no browsing history or image data is sent to external servers. The browser extension (Chrome and Firefox) and the Android app are free; the iOS app is paid.
