अवलोकन

HaramBlur is a free, open-source browser extension built around the Islamic principle of lowering the gaze. It runs face- and content-detection models entirely inside the browser, blurring images and videos it classifies as NSFW the moment they render, and exposes controls for blur strength, strictness, gender-based filtering, hover-to-unblur, and a quick on/off toggle from the popup.

The extension is published on the Chrome Web Store and the Firefox Add-ons store, with full source code on GitHub under AGPL-3.0, maintained by Mohamed Alganzory and community contributors. No browsing history is collected and no data is sent to external servers — all detection happens locally on the user's device.

A focused, self-contained tool in the Islamic-extension space: fully open source, no telemetry, and aimed at one hard problem (real-time image and video filtering) rather than packaged as a full browser. A natural pick for users who want to stay on their existing browser instead of switching to a dedicated Islamic one.
