Al-Maktaba Al-Shamela announced that the desktop program is now available for download on Windows, macOS, and Linux through the official download page.
The announcement notes that this is one program across all three systems: the macOS and Linux versions provide the same screens, features, and functionality as the Windows version.
Users also do not need to lose their books, notes, options, or saved sessions when moving to another system. These data are stored in a single database folder that can be copied into the Shamela folder on the new system.
- On Windows and Linux, the
databasefolder appears inside the program folder. - On macOS, open Finder, choose Go then Go to Folder, and enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Shamela.
Shamela should be closed before copying or replacing the folder, and the old database folder should be removed before pasting the copied one in its place.
